Palmyra

Palmyra, New York, is known as the queen of canal towns. A community based on pride and history, Palmyra is located along the Erie Canal, near the south shore of Lake Ontario, and in the northern part of the exquisite Finger Lakes region.

According to climatologists, the Wisconsin Ice Advance, 15 to 10,000 years ago, covered what is now Wayne County with an ice pack about 5,000 feet thick. As a result of the progression and recession of the action, Wayne County contains a number of unique hills called drumlins; for example, Prospect Hill in Palmyra and Hill Cumorah are among the numerous drumlins in our area.

See for yourself why Palmyra is one of the friendliest spots on earth.
