At Hunt Country Vineyards on Keuka Lake, our two great passions have been: Crafting rare and distinctive Finger Lakes wines using sustainable agricultural practices. And sharing those wines with you.
We first achieved a wide reputation as a premier producer of Vidal Blanc Ice Wine. This delectable wine has been served at the United Nations, ordered by the White House and featured on NBC’s Today Show.
Now, celebrating our 30th year of fine winemaking, Hunt Country Vineyards encompass 50 acres of high quality cool-climate grapes that we craft into classic wines such as Pinot Gris, Riesling and Cabernet Franc, as well as rare varieties like Valvin Muscat and Late Harvest Vignoles.
Director of winemaking Jonathan Hunt is the sixth generation of Hunts to till the soil on our 170-acre farm, high on the western flank of beautiful Keuka Lake. Hunt Country Vineyards is a true farm winery, family-owned and -managed. In preservation of our heritage, Hunts has a commitment to producing wine sustainably. When guests visit, we are happy to show you our latest in sustainable/environmental agricultural initiatives, which include: Go Geothermal!, Major Carbon Footprint Reductions, The Locavore Room, Leftovers from Pressing become Fertilizer, and Opposition to Hydrofracking in the Finger Lakes.
We invite you to become a part of our family and movement by sampling wines in our bright and airy Tasting Room, open year round. Tastings include a standard selection, at $2.00/person, an Artisan Chocolate & Wine Tasting with Hedonist Chocolates from Rochester, NY at $4.00/person, or the Farmstead Cheese & Wine Tasting, with a bounty of New York State artisanal cheeses, at just $6.00/person. No matter your choice, discover the unique qualities by selecting from a number of our wines, and ask our warm and informative servers for suggestions.
